Rose Gaming Resort To Open At The End Of September 2024

Churchill Downs Corporation today announced that it has received approval from Dumfries Town to open the first phase of its Rose Gaming Resort, which features 1,650 historic racing machines. The figure represents a 500 HRM increase from what was previously announced by the CDI. The Rose, located in northern Virginia, is now scheduled to open in late September 2024. The facility will also open with a 102-room hotel, eight food and beverage options, and more than 2,540 parking spaces. Total capital investment in the project is currently expected to be $460 million, with approximately $160 million remaining as of Dec. 31, 2023. The company will update its second phase of development plans at a later date. As part of CDI's commitment to Dumfries Town, the company will make a one-time donation of $3.6 million to Dumfries Town.
